Meet Charylcie Wilemon

Hello! Thank you for visiting my “About” page and letting me share some of my background. I am an evangelical Christian and attend a local Bible church in Denton, Texas. I grew up in Greenville, Texas, went to the local public schools, and graduated from Greenville Christian School. I am very fond of both of my schooling experiences (public and private) and appreciate the love for math that grew out of them. I attended Texas A&M-Commerce and graduated with a BS in Mathematics for Secondary Education. During that time, I married my husband, and we began a family. Today we have 4 grown children and have been married for 30+ years.

I have spent more than 25 years educating my own children and others’ children in homeschool classes and coops, private school classes, and tutoring. I gained firsthand experience from my own children about how to accomodate learning differences and special abilities and can relate to the challenges many parents face. I have also spent many years volunteering in children’s ministry and working as a children’s ministry assistant coordinator. I love teaching kids of all ages; learning new things can be exciting and provides the opportunity to point to a Creator. Math is a unique point of view to see the nature of God, but upon inspection there is much to learn through the predictability of math.

I have two purposes in teaching and tutoring in math. My first purpose is aide families with instruction in, what can be, a difficult but important educational pursuit; my second purpose is to bring attention to how math points to order, design, and consistency in our world because of its Creator.

I am a patient teacher and desire to help my students succeed with their goals. No matter what educational approach families pursue (homeschool, private, public), I know it requires a lot of dedication from the parent. I am grateful to have been able to homeschool my children, and I am excited to encourage others and support them in their journey.
